Several years have passed since the last new Gears of War game was released, but at long last, that drought is almost over. Gears of War: E-Day will be one of the early highlights of October, and if you’re looking to rev your Lancer up and turn back the Locust tide, you can start playing really soon. Like other big upcoming games, you’ll also have the option to preload Gears of War: E-Day, so you can jump right into the fray on launch day. Here’s a closer look at the timing for this new chapter in the series.
Gears of War: E-Day install size
According to the official PC requirements for Gears of War: E-Day, the game will require 115GB of storage capacity on that platform. Xbox Series X|S install sizes are typically on par with PC, so overall, you’ll want to make sure you have at least 100GB of free space available on your machine. That’s a pretty noticeable increase in size, as the previous game, Gears 5, required a chunky 80GB of space when it was first released back in 2019.
One other thing to note is that if you’re planning to play on PC, the game requires a solid-state drive to be installed on. This is a mandatory requirement for the game to run optimally.
