Here’s some good news for people who like to read: Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft is back down to its all-time low price of $169.99. That’s a big drop from the standard $249.99 MSRP. The discount comes ahead of Amazon's Big Spring Sale, and the only other time it was this affordable was Black Friday.
If you want to throw in some useful accessories, you can pick up the “Essentials Bundle” for $188, which is a bargain. That includes a Kindle Colorsoft, a black plant-based leather cover, and a power adapter. I’d recommend getting this bundle, as the cover alone usually sells for $43 on Amazon. And you don’t want to get any scratches on the display.
Amazon Kindle Colorsoft Deals
The Kindle Colorsoft is Amazon’s color e-ink reader. There have been a number of different Kindles over the years, with various new features, but I’d say color is the biggest evolution. While color doesn’t come into play with everything you’d want to read on a Kindle, it’s a game changer for some things. It makes comics and magazines look great, along with any other full-color books you’d want to read.
Personally, I’m still rocking the Kindle Paperwhite, but the ColorSoft is the only new model that’s made me want to upgrade. Even in its black-and-white form, the Kindle has been a revelation for me. In a digital world that’s all about bright, flashy, multi-purpose screens, the Kindle goes the other way. It’s an electronic device that does one thing exceedingly well. It displays text. That’s it! It has no other apps, no push notifications popping up to interrupt you, nothing to get between you and a good book.
And here’s a pro tip: download the Libby app and connect it to your library card. That lets you borrow ebooks from your library and read them on the Kindle. I haven’t paid for an ebook in years.
But even if you want a book that's not available in Libby, you can often get incredible deals on ebooks. For instance, right now you can get The Zombie Survival Guide or King Sorrow for $1.99, or Leviathan Wakes (the first book in the Expanse series) for $2.99. That’s 100 hours of entertainment right there. And if you get the Colorsoft and want some comic book deals, Amazon has a page for that as well.
